Last week’s You! Be Informed! focused on the ED-Awards, an area specific award giving body that celebrates the best of graphic design, illustration and digital design in Europe. For those of you feeling left out from this competition as you’re not currently living in Europe, worry no more because we’ve already got you covered.
Adobe Youth Voices Aspire Awards are now accepting entries for 2013. Now on its second year, the Adobe Youth Voices Aspire Awards is a global, online competition that encourages the youth to creatively voice out their vision of making a positive change in their local communities. It’s an extension of the Adobe Foundation’s philanthropic commitment and its global signature program – Adobe Youth Voices, which aims to motivate creative confidence in youth by empowering them to find their voice and make themselves heard.
Entries maybe categorized into 8 groups. These include print media in the form of photo collection, digital story, photo essays, poster and collages; or videos in the form of animation, documentary, music video, narrative, poetry or collaboration. Adobe will also be adding a ninth category this year – the Aspire Awards UNICEF Challenge which invites entrants to develop a video proposal for a project they would like to launch in their local community. Youth participants can team up with adult educators and submit original high-quality content for online viewing and voting.
Submission of entries ends on February 22, 2013 for content produced from 2010-2012. For content produced in 2013, including all UNICEF Challenge entries, the submission deadline will be on April 19, 2013. Winning entries will receive software, hardware and opportunities to push their project forward on top of the publicity that their project will receive from international exhibitions, film festivals and other arts organization events.
For more information about submission guidelines you can visit the Aspire Awards website for additional clarification.
